Allie Hulen
Yoga Teacher, RYT 200®
Allie’s yoga journey began several years ago at a time when anxiety often got the best of her. While attending her first yoga class, she experienced a reprieve from the weight and worry - a wholeness and a calming of the mind. With a consistent yoga practice, the physical benefits of asana were wonderful, but it was the benefits in mental and emotional health that made yoga so empowering. Thus began a search for the “why” and “how” such a practice could be so impactful.
Allie completed her 200-Hour Certification at TBY Yoga under the guidance of Julia Jonson, with whom she regularly studies. Allie’s goal as a yoga teacher is to create a space where people can come to learn about and better connect with themselves. In calming our minds and being good to ourselves - practicing these teachings of Yoga - we might better connect to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us.
Allie’s day job is teaching elementary general music to grades K-5, which she loves. She earned her bachelor’s in Music Education from Western Illinois University, studying piano and tuba. In her free time - when she is not in a yoga class at TBY - she loves to write songs, cook and eat, listen to tree podcasts, crack a book with a cup of tea, and cuddle with her dog, Arlo.
