Sally Gill
Managing Partner of The Yoga Effect, E-RYT 500, Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Practitioner, YTT Co-Instructor, Yoga Educator
Sally has been studying and practicing yoga since 1992, when she discovered the practice as a dancer seeking to overcome performance anxiety. What began as a way to feel more comfortable and connected in her own body through learning breath work and concentration, has evolved into a lifelong exploration of yoga and its many dimensions.
Sally began teaching yoga in 2015. Her teaching is grounded in exploring yoga as a holistic practice that encompasses ethical living, self-discipline, movement, breath, sensory awareness, concentration, and a deeper understanding of self. She encourages students and teachers-in-training to consider how these teachings can become a meaningful part of everyday life.
As a teacher, Sally values both the rigor and accessibility of yoga. Her classes may range from challenging and heat-building practices to gentle, restorative, and contemplative experiences, but the intention remains the same: a dedicated, lifelong practice is not about mastering a collection of poses, but rather continually returning to the teachings of yoga; with curiosity, humility, and an open mind.
